The Cleanability of VT Dimensions 

One of the many benefits of selecting VT Dimensions laminate countertops is the ease of cleaning. As a result of COVID-19, many people are becoming more and more conscious about the cleanability of products in all industries and applications. For VT Dimensions laminate countertops, providing a safe, clean surface couldn’t be easier.   

First and foremost, since laminate countertops are non-porous, bacteria cannot penetrate the surface. What exactly does this mean? Unlike other countertop materials such as granite, marble, or concrete that are porous surfaces, laminate will not harbor bacteria and viruses on the countertop surface. This characteristic alone is a huge benefit, and one of the many reasons why consumers have selected it over competing surfaces. 

In addition to being non-porous, VT Dimensions countertops are also very simple to clean. For everyday cleaning, we recommend using a clean, damp, non-abrasive cloth with a mild detergent or household cleaner. To remove stuck-on residue, scrub with a nylon-bristled brush. If you have a difficult stain, we recommend applying a paste of baking soda and water to draw out the stain. Then, blot away with a damp cloth. Don’t rub the stain, as it may set back into the laminate. You may use solvents such as denatured alcohol or nail polish remover on your laminate countertop to remove pen or pencil stains. Use a small amount and repeat until the stain is removed. Rinse the surface thoroughly. Then clean as usual. 

If you need to dust the surface, we recommend using a non-oily furniture spray. This may also help hide small scratches. The CDC has also recently published a list of COVID-19 disinfectant sprays, we recommend considering any of these items when selecting your cleaner.
