The Duke Cancer Center, a teaching and research hospital in North Carolina, is a 267,000 square foot fully integrated cancer care and research facility. They are ranked #13 nationally and the building offers state-of-the-art patient care with a more stream¬lined approach to cancer care. The building was designed with input and suggestions from patients, caregivers, faculty, and staff.
With cancer care being the focus of the building, the atmosphere needed to be warm and inviting and be a place where patients feel comfortable while maintaining their privacy. In addition, the doors needed to match the millwork package seamlessly while providing the protection patients and staff demand.
